Pharmacological action

Analgesic-antipyretic. It has analgesic, antipyretic and weak anti-inflammatory action. The mechanism of action is associated with inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis, the predominant influence on the thermoregulation center in the hypothalamus, enhances heat transfer.

Why is Alvedon prescribed?

Pain weak and moderate intensity of different genesis (including headache, migraine, toothache, neuralgia, myalgia, algomenorrhea; pain in trauma, burns). Fever in infectious and inflammatory diseases.

This medicin is available without prescription. However, you still need to use it carefully to
get the best results from it.

What Alvedon Suppositories are and what they are used for

A suppository is a small, cone-shaped medicine which is inserted into the back passage (rectum).
Alvedon Suppositories contain a medicine called paracetamol. This belongs to a group of medicines called pain-killers (analgesics).
Alvedon Suppositories are used to treat pain and high temperature (fever) in children up to the age of 1 year. They are used by children who find it difficult to take paracetamol as tablets or syrup.

What you need to know before you give Alvedon Suppositories to your child
Do not give Alvedon Suppositories to your child:
• If they are allergic to paracetamol or to the other ingredient of this medicine (listed insection 6).

Warnings and precautions
Talk to your child’s doctor or pharmacist before using these suppositories:
• If your child has liver or kidney problems.
• If your child is taking other medicines which can affect their liver (see ‘Other medicines and Alvedon Suppositories’ section).
